Some of Sri Lanka's clearest water and best coral. Around Angel Rock you'll find a high density of reef fish, and Coral Island is a coral garden you'll often have to yourselves. Turtles, octopus and moray eels are seen regularly, with visibility frequently 15 to 25 metres in season.

Both are a short boat ride from our beach. Angel Rock is known for clear water and a high density of fish — one of Sri Lanka's best snorkel spots. Coral Island is a quieter coral garden, often snorkeled without a shared boat, so it can feel like you have it to yourselves.

Not necessarily. The snorkeling here is reached by boat, but both spots suit non-swimmers who are comfortable wearing a life jacket and following the guide. We adapt the trip to your comfort in the water.

Yes. Mask, fins and snorkel are included, along with refreshments after the trip. We bring a GoPro and capture photos and videos of you in the water — no extra charge.

The Nilaveli season runs from 30 April to 15 October, when the east coast offers flat water and excellent visibility around Angel Rock and Coral Island. Outside those dates you can pre-book for when the season opens.

Our dive centre is right on the beach, and the boat leaves from there. In Nilaveli we don't offer tuk tuk pick-up — most accommodation is within easy walking or short tuk tuk distance. Please arrive 30 minutes before your trip.
